catto

Yooo! The name's Alex. from Philippines 👋

By day I work full time in customer service, but by night you'll find me struggling while I code my own website - it's a passion of mine.

One day I hope to be a CTO. It's gonna be one heck of a ride but I'm ready to put in the work.

I really enjoy solving complex issues, even if it doesn't sound like the most fun thing ever.

Something about figuring out complicated stuff really makes me happy, you know?

tech journey, so far 💻

In 2023 I proudly graduated from an awesome Full Stack Java coding bootcamp. I also had my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification - I may not use cloud skills every day but just you wait, big things are coming!

Prior to my bootcamp journey, for over a year and a half I had the opportunity to work at the coolest little tech startup around.

Talk about a learning experience - I got to dive into everything from creating user stories, writing test plans to executing them. We're talking functional, regression, API, visual testing, you name it!

It was so fulfilling to help ensure quality in both their software and services.

biggest project up to date 📈

So the biggest thing I've worked on so far was actually this issue tracking tool I called Agile Ninja.

It was totally inspired by that Jira software - you know the one most companies use for project management.

I built the whole thing using the Spring Boot framework for Java in the backend. That hooked into a MySQL database to store all the issues and comments and whatnot.

On the frontend, I leaned heavily on Bootstrap and jQuery to get the styling and interactivity worked out.

It's functional for basic login and registration, tracking of issues and tasks and filtering. Right now you can create projects, add issues, assign people, that sort of thing.

But I've got some ideas for expanding it with some new features soon. Maybe add some kanban board views, Gantt chart, a calendar, custom workflows - you know, really take it to the next level of features.

future goals 💪

  • Learn React

  • Land a dev role on my current organization

  • Build and expand my mini projects

  • Becoming really good at what I am currently doing

Thanks for taking the time to check out my bio! I'm thrilled you made it all the way to the bottom. Have an incredible rest of your day and don't forget to chase your dreams!
